Day 1

Riviera Maya - Tulum - Bacalar

In the morning, visit the Mayan site of Tulum, perched on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Continue to the Seven Colours Lagoon in Bacalar with a visit to the small pirate museum in the Spanish Fort. Bacalar has recently been awarded the title of Pueblo Magico. You will also visit the deep blue Cenote Azul where you can take a refreshing bath.

Day 2

Bacalar - Chetumal - San Ignacio (Belize)

In the morning you cross the border into Belize. Passing sugar cane fields, you reach the small town of Orange Walk, where you take a leisurely walk and gather your first impressions of Belize. Continue to the Mayan site of Altun Ha, once an important Mayan trading centre. On the Western Highway you will arrive at the famous Belize Zoo, home of the tapir. Arrive in San Ignacio in the late afternoon.

Day 3

San Ignacio - Flores (Guatemala)

This morning you will visit the "Green Iguana Conservation Project", where you can pet, feed or even adopt the green iguanas! You will also see a variety of local plants and animals that live in rainforests on a short hike through jungle trails. Continue towards the Guatemala border, where we will catch sight of the towering pyramid of Xunantunich from afar. Enjoy the breathtaking view from the main temple over the Mopan Valley. Afterwards, border crossing into Guatemala and drive to Flores.

Day 4

Mayan site Tikal

Several-hour tour of the most monumental Mayan cult site, Tikal, where over 3000 buildings have been recorded. The impressive Tikal is located in the rainforest of Petén, where howler monkeys, toucans and coatis live. Visit to the Morley Museum. Afternoon transfer to Flores and short tour of the picturesque peninsula.

Day 5

Flores - Palenque (Mexico)

Land transfer to the Usumacinta River, which forms the natural border between Guatemala and Mexico. Boat trip to the Mayan site of Yaxchilan, which is difficult to access, was built in a river bend and has very well preserved temples and stelae. Continue to Palenque, another highlight of your trip.

Day 6

Palenque - Campeche

Guided tour of the mystical Mayan cult site with the fascinating Temple of the Inscriptions, tomb of the god-king Pakal. In the afternoon, drive to Campeche, the charming colonial town right on the Gulf of Mexico, with its typical bulwarks in the historic old town centre.

Day 7

Campeche - Mérida

Visit to the most emblematic sites of the Mayan Classic: Kabah with its "Codz Pop" temple dedicated to the rain god and Uxmal with its architectural jewels such as the Pyramid of the Fortune Teller, the Nuns' Quadrangle or the Governor's Palace. Then continue to Mérida and enjoy a city tour in the late afternoon.

Day 8

Mérida - Chichén Itzá - Riviera Maya

Drive to Chichén Itzá and tour of the famous cult site with the unique Kukulkan pyramid, the warrior temple, the ball court and the observatory. An unforgettable experience and certainly a crowning conclusion to your trip. Afterwards, transfer to Cancún or to your seaside hotel on the Riviera Maya.
