Laguna de Oviedo

You will be picked up at 9:00 am. The tour will then take you along the coastal road with fantastic views. The destination is the village of Oviedo. Here you will visit "La Laguna de Oviedo", a saltwater nature reserve separated from the sea by a narrow strip of land. After receiving your entrance wristbands for the national park, you will board a typical boat. In the lagoon you can observe numerous large birds such as herons, spoonbills and ducks.

The lagoon of Oviedo consists of a total of 24 small islands of different sizes. Visiting one of these islands you will have the opportunity to observe iguanas in their natural habitat. After the visit continue by boat to the largest flamingo colony in the Dominican Republic. Enjoy this experience as you pass by a whole flock of flamingos. End the visit with a mud bath at a specific spot in the lagoon, with a material that is believed to have therapeutic and cosmetic effects. At the end of the boat ride, you will be driven back to your hotel. On the way back, you will visit the village of Paraiso, a typical Dominican place with refreshing rivers and rocky beaches that invite you to swim. If you want to eat here, let your guide know and he will take care of everything. The cost of lunch must be paid by yourself.
