Lago Enriquillo
Lago Enriquillo is one of the most attractive areas in the country and lies almost 40 m below sea level. The surrounding area is hot and dry, but very fertile in certain parts thanks to springs and small rivers. Some former Taíno settlements have been discovered in the desert-like environment around the encrusted salt lake. The national park is also a retreat for American sharp-mouthed crocodiles and rhinoceros iguanas.
During a boat trip get on the lookout for these impressive reptiles.
On the way back, you will have the opportunity to bathe at the natural pools of Neyba. Afterwards, you will head back to your hotel.
